Safety
Everything we do at Aventuras México Profundo is driven by safety. To guarantee the safety of our guests and our staff is our primary concern. That is why we have designed a written emergency management plan to establish and standardize the best procedures.
Vehicle maintenance and driver and guide training is all performed according to these essential principles. Baja California itself is very safe: special caution needs to be exercised only in the border region and its big cities. If we exclude the big cities Tijuana and Mexicali the population of the entire peninsula is less than 2 million with 95% of its territory being rural. Add to the above that the region has very few airports and harbours, all strictly controlled, as well as the fact that there is only one road connecting the entire peninsula it becomes clear that this is not an ideal territory for criminals. Still excluding the border region we can assure you that you could stroll around everywhere in Baja California alone, at any time of day or night - safely. The Chepe train ride and the Copper Canyon area we also consider safe for travel, nevertheless other regions of Chihuahua, especially the northern part, should be avoided for the moment.
Health and Insurance
All our staff is constantly trained and certified in up to date first aid techniques and we carry first aid kits on board all our vehicles. We have inspected all medical facilities including ambulances along our routes and our operational staff has a list with location and contact information of emergency and medical facilities along their particular route. Pharmacies are found in each town but more specialized medicine should be brought by the traveller. The staff is trained in how to avoid potentially dangerous animals and how to deal with accidents.
Travelling on board our vehicles, on the premises of the hotels and on boat trips clients are covered by comprehensive insurance policies. Nevertheless, to be completely insured, we strongly recommend purchasing at a generally very low cost a vacation travel policy from your home provider.
